Before you
begin to install your vinyl flooring there are a couple of things that you need
to do first that are quite important.
Firstly you
need to leave your vinyl flooring for at least an hour and even better 2 hours
at room temperature to become a little more flexible.
Now if you
are laying your new vinyl flooring onto a concrete sub base you just need to
make sure that there is not to much moisture in the sub floor. If you think
there may be then you will need to add a damp proof membrane (don’t worry you
will be offered this option before checkout) to the flooring.
Secondly
with a concrete sub floor you will need to make sure that it is smooth and
level without to many undulations. You can achieve this with a self levelling
compound.
Once you
have done these three things you will be ready to install your new vinyl
flooring.
However it’s
a slightly different process if you have a wooden sub floor.
Firstly if
you have floorboards or chipboard it is always advisable to board out the room
with 6mm plywood to create a better finish to the end product. You will then
need to make sure that they are well secured down without any screws or nails
sticking up.
Once you
have done these things you will be ready to install your new vinyl flooring.
